Ancient Abstracts

One of the most drought-tolerant tree species, bristle-cone pines (pinus longaeva  and pinus aristata) are also the oldest living trees in the world, some being over 4000 or 5000 years old. Native to the Rocky Mountains and other ranges of the southwest of the United States, these magnificent creatures grow usually above 5500 feet (about 1700 meters). The patterns found in their trunks and branches are truly fascinating and, in my opinion, quite artistic, lending themselves to the creation of interesting abstracts, and appealing photography.
